





The Genesis OPAL is a vertical lift built to travel a maximum of 5 feet. The lift is fitted with a gate at the lower landing that travels with the lift to protect the passenger. The upper landing can be fitted with a gate as well but for residential applications may not be necessary.

Gates - The lower gate of the Genesis OPAL is mounted onto the platform deck and travels from landing to landing. The upper gate is fastened to the upper landing creating a safety barrier when the platform is not at the upper landing.
Gate Interlocks - The OPAL is equipped with a durable mechanical interlock system that is electrically monitored. When the platform is not at the landing the mechanical interlock will not allow the gate to be opened.
Drive System - The Genesis OPAL Model has a choice of two drive systems.
Leadscrew Drive - The economical Leadscrew Drive System (2 HP motor) travels at 10 feet per minute and requires 120 VAC single phase on a dedicated 20 amp circuit. The Leadscrew Drive System can be ordered in two different lifting heights, up to a maximum of 63".
Hydraulic Drive - The Hydraulic Drive with full time battery operation (3 HP motor) is a quieter drive system and travels at 17 feet per minute. This systems requires 120 VAC single phase on a dedicated 15 amp circuit. The Hydraulic Drive System can be ordered in two different lifting heights, up to a maximum of 63".

Call Stations - The standard call station is keyless and operates with continuous pressure rocker switches.
Platform Controls - Consist of a directional rocker switch with an emergency stop/alarm button and is keyless.
Under Platform Safety Pan - Five commercial grade waterproof safety switches will stop the platform should it encounter an obstruction.
Standard Finish - The standard finish for the OPAL is anodized aluminum extrusions with fine textured Satin Grey Panels.
Manual Lowering - (Hydraulic only) The manual emergency lowering device consists of a pull knob mounted in a box on the side of the mast. When this device is used the platform is lowered to the desired landing.
Manually Lowering - (Leadscrew only) A handwheel is used to manually lower the lift to the landing in the case of a power outage.

Continuous Mains Power with Battery Back-up System - (Hydraulic Model Only) For very high usage applications, continuous mains power supply is available. The lift connects directly to the building power. The power is reduced to 24VDC to operate the control system and drive motor.
Battery Powered Emergency Lowering - The Leadscrew model can be supplied with an optional emergency lowering system which is automatically activated in the event of a power failure.
Optional Finishes - Finishes for the Genesis OPAL model include the steel frame outside wall panels and aluminum extrusions to be painted from a large selection of RAL Colors.
Custom Colors or Exotic Finishes - Garaventa can offer custom color matching, Graphic Imaging and Exotic Finishes. The panels can also be supplied with wood finishes, Formica, architectural metals or any material not exceeding 1/2" in thickness.
Garaventa Power Door Operator - The Garaventa Power Door Operator (PDO) automatically opens the gate when the platform arrives at the landing. When the lift is at the landing, the passenger can press the call station switch or gently pull on the gate to activate the door opener. Power door operators are recommended.
Keyed Call Stations - Keyed call stations can be supplied as an option.
Keyed Platform Controls - Keyed platform controls can be supplied as an option.
Folding Ramp - The ramp is attached to the platform assembly and travels with the platform. When the platform begins to travel upwards, the ramp folds up automatically, clearing the lower landing. A Power Door Operator is recommended.
Stationary Ramp - When the OPAL is installed as a floor mount unit, the lift can be supplied with a landing ramp that will provide a smooth transition to the platform. It is recommended that a Power Door Operator is installed for this kind of installation.
Folding Seat - The lift can be equipped with a folding seat which is ideal for passengers who do not use a wheelchair.
Auxiliary Powered Drive - (Hydraulic Model Only) This allows the passenger inside the lift to travel up or down to the desired landing in the event of a power failure.
